Spitfire Grill (The Musical Story)
Music & Book by James Valcq Lyrics & Book by Fred Alley
September 12, 13, 19, 20, 21, 25, 26, 27, 28
“A soul-satisfying…work of theatrical resourcefulness. The story moves, the characters have many dimensions and their transformations are plausible and moving. The musical is freeing. It is penetrated by honesty and it glows.” NY Times.
THE STORY: A feisty parolee follows her dreams to a small town in Wisconsin and finds a place for herself working at Hannah’s Spitfire Grill. It is for sale but there are no takers in the depressed town, so newcomer Percy suggests to Hannah that she raffle it off. Entry fees are one hundred dollars and the best essay on why you want the grill wins. Soon, mail is arriving by the wheelbarrow full and things are definitely cookin’ at the Spitfire Grill.

Crucible (The Classic Drama)
by Arthur Miller
November 7, 8, 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, 22, 23
Salem is both a gripping historical play and a timely parable of our contemporary society. “A powerful drama.” – NY Times. “Strongly written.” – NY Daily News.
THE STORY: The story focuses upon a young farmer, his wife, and a young servant-girl who maliciously causes the wife’s arrest for witchcraft. The farmer brings the girl to court to admit the lie-and it is here that the monstrous course of bigotry and deceit is terrifyingly depicted. The farmer, instead of saving his wife, finds himself also accused of witchcraft and ultimately condemned with a host of others.
