A Letter from the Artistic Director

What an exciting time it is here at your Toledo Rep.  We had a wonderful experience with the recent outstanding presentation of Death of a Salesman wrapping up the month of April. Thank you for such a great turnout for this memorable production. 

And now for the month of May…

Auditions will take place for our 14-19 year old thespians on Saturday, May 4 at 1:00 PM for our Young Rep production of the musical Fiddler on the Roof, directed by Rosie Best, and set to play the Tenth Street stage in mid-July.

Next up, we’re setting the stage for a Mother’s Day weekend Special Event, The MOMologues, directed by Elizabeth Cottle, scheduled to play the Tenth Street stage May 9, 10, 11 at 8:00 PM and closing with a Mother’s Day matinee on Sunday, May 12 at 2:30.  What better way to show your love and appreciation for your mother than to bring her to this special salute to Moms!  There is some mature subject matter and strong language, so don’t say we didn’t warn you. 

And finally, Saturday, May 18 at 2:00 finds us holding another set of auditions, this time for our Younger Young Rep production of Guys and Dolls Jr., a musical for youth age 7 to 13.

So that’s what’s on tap for May.  And June?  Well far be it from us to get ahead of ourselves, but we’ve got a sure-fire hit on our hands to close our 80th Anniversary Main Stage Season with the hysterical musical hit, The Drowsy Chaperone.
